About Me

My name is Jaclyn Blain. I am the mommy of two wonderfully energetic children who love to taste test. I have been married to an amazing, supportive husband for almost nine years. I first stumbled on my interest in cake decorating a few years ago when my oldest decided he wanted a dinosaur cake for both of his parties. I made two. After my hand uncramped, I decided I kinda liked it. After some time passed, I decided to take a basic class to learn some simple techniques. At the time, I had no idea what it would become. A few more years went by and I offered my unsharpened skills to a friend of mine for her daughters' ninth birthday. I decided to take on a few skills that I hadn't even come close to learning. After many hours of online and library reading and studying, I taught myself the basics of making fondant from scratch, applying fondant, and stacking and tiering cakes. What a project that was! (that cake is the 3 tiered pink one with the party hat) After that was done, and with a lot of encouragement, I began my journey to learn all I could. I am still far from good but learning more with each project and falling more in love with the creative avenue of cake decorating!
